BING & YAHOO

Bing and Yahoo advertisements are very similar to Google advertisement. They both offer pay search and display advertisements. Comparatively, Bing is more active in America and Yahoo are more active in Asia.

Why Grouping Bing And Yahoo Together?

Some of you may be using Yahoo search engine in your childhood. Since the growth of Google in the early 2000s, users have been switching from Yahoo to Google. Yahoo decided to focus their business on other aspects and their search engine service has been outsourced to Bing (Microsoft). Yahoo and Bing have become strategic partner since 2009. In which they advertisement services are kind of similar and interchangeable.

Bing & Yahoo Paid Search

Just like Google, Bing and Yahoo offer paid search for their clients to get ranked up on their search results. This kind of advertisement is the best fit for B2B businesses. So you may ask why should be still using Bing and Yahoo when Google has already taken up 80% of the market share.

Bing

Bing is running by Microsoft. Microsoft has been putting their focus on the Amercian market for years. Bing search is providing a lot of localized information in America. If America is one of your target markets, you may consider using Bing.

Yahoo

Yahoo has a larger focus in the Asian market compared to Bing. However, their market share is relatively low compared to Google, especially in Hong Kong. One large reason for still using Yahoo as an advertisement channel is the targeted age group. As I have mentioned, Yahoo is the largest search engine in most of your childhood. For those current at age 50 or above still has a practice of using Yahoo rather than Google. So if you are targeting 50 or above, Yahoo could be a good choice.

Bing Display Ad

Unlike Google having their own display network, Bing partnered with AOL to display advertisements to AOL properties. AOL is a subsidiary of Verizon and it is one of the largest web portal and web service provider. One of the largest online electronic website Engadget is owned by AOL. Bing has offered the right to put display advertisements on AOL properties. However, in 2018, Bing has announced their own display network starting with MSN, Microsoft outlook, Microsoft Edge, etc.
